Six new species of Snakes discovered in India

  1. 1 Subhendhu’s Wolf Snake

    Discovered in Odisha, Subhendhu’s wolf Snake is a genus of colubrid snakes, commonly known as wolf snakes. The green-coloured snake has a bright yellow collar on its neck and twin spots on each scale (which looks like a yellow and black pattern) except the collar and can reach 350mm in length.
  2. 2 Wallace’s Striped Racer

    Credit

    Researchers have discovered a new species of snake, named the Wallace’s Striped Racer, in the western Indian state of Gujarat. Body of Wallace’s Striped Racer snake is covered with black stripe running the length of its body with yellow coloration rounding out this beauty.
