Falcon Heavy Test Flight

Space X’s most powerful rocket, Falcon Heavy has been launched successfully from Launch Complex 39A at Kennedy Space Center in Florida. With the ability to lift into orbit nearly 64 metric tons (141,000 lb)---a mass greater than a 737 jetliner loaded with passengers, crew, luggage and fuel--Falcon Heavy can lift more than twice the payload of the next closest operational vehicle, the Delta IV Heavy, at one-third the cost. Falcon Heavy draws upon the proven heritage and reliability of Falcon 9.

Priced at $ 90 million, the Falcon stands at 70 m, it has two stages and two boosters. Falcon’s payload to LEO (Low Earth Orbit) is 63,800 kg and to Mars is 16, 800 kg.   With a width of 12.2 m (39.9 ft), the Falcon’s mass stands at 1,420,788 kg. The PAYLOAD TO GTO (Geosynchronous Transfer Orbit), 26,700 kg, the payload to Pluto is 3,500kg.
